Biography of Tachi
Style and Works
Tachi developed an interest in art and painting from an early age. His work is characterized by its dynamism and visceral quality, stemming from his focus on the creative process rather than the final result. This approach encouraged him to showcase his artistic process live, participating in media events and offering live painting performances, both in Spain and internationally, allowing the audience to witness the artistic journey until the work’s completion.
For many years, Tachi has specialized in large-scale portraits, many of which were created live. He has painted during the inaugurations of several musicals in Madrid and produced numerous portraits at concerts held at Madrid’s Plaza de Toros de Las Ventas. These experiences opened doors for him internationally, leading to participation in events like “Hard Rock Calling” at Hyde Park in London, where he portrayed musicians such as Bruce Springsteen, Paul Simon, Elton John, Paul McCartney, Christina Perri, and bands like Soundgarden. Tachi has painted in numerous countries where his live painting performances are highly sought after.
He has also painted at major concerts in South America, including one in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia, featuring artists like Carlos Vives, Juan Luis Guerra, and Nicky Jam, among others. He has been a prominent figure in various national and international TV programs.
Tachi’s work has also made its mark in the sports world, where, for several years, he has traveled to the United Arab Emirates to paint at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, portraying Formula 1 drivers like Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton. His portraits have been requested by many elite international footballers, as well as from the world of tennis, where he has painted athletes such as Rafa Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz.
In 2019, Tachi participated in the Spanish Sailing Cup. In 2021, he was chosen by a group of Basque entrepreneurs to reinterpret Picasso’s Guernica (3.50 meters x 8 meters). This work is currently on display in a well-known shopping center in San Sebastián. This reimagining of Picasso’s work marked the beginning of a new, more mature, introspective, and personal phase in Tachi’s artistic journey.
In 2022, Chinese art lovers contacted Tachi to propose promoting his work in Asia, offering him the opportunity to develop free and personal works. Tachi responded by creating the series “Deliriums of a Truth,” a collection of surrealist paintings addressing existential questions of humanity, including topics like the Metaverse, War, Sex, Time, Happiness, Death, Truth, Lies, Science, and Education.
This shift in his career has amplified his global artistic presence, establishing him as a prominent artist with a powerful and deeply personal body of work.
